Friday, June 17th-Saturday, June 18th: Odiorne State Park & Portsmouth, NH

Distance: more than a mile

Trail Surface: dirt trail, sandy beach, sidewalks

Land: State park, town

Difficulty: easy

We took a little vacation to New England! We started out in Portsmouth, NH where we stayed with Silvia through Airbnb. The day began walking around Dover and Somersworth, visiting my old house, the high school I graduated from, the former GE location, and the Thirsty Moose for lunch. We stopped back in at Portsmouth to grab some beach stuff, and headed to Wallis Beach where we snacked on bulk corn nuts (!!!) and napped by the ocean. We were up for a walk/hike so we stopped in at Odiorne State Park and went on a low key hike along the ocean. It was a beautiful time of day as the sun set over the ocean. We spent the next  day walking around Strawbery Banke Museum (http://www.strawberybanke.org/index.cfm) in Portsmouth, visiting homes and gardens from years past. We then walked around downtown stopping into Flatbread Co. for lunch (delicious!) and Diversions game store. We headed to North Hampton beach for more beach time and a walk, but it was crazy busy and surprisingly chilly, so we didn’t stay very long. We headed back to Portsmouth for some dinner and to walk around downtown for the evening, including walking across one of the bridges to Maine, yep, we walked to Maine.
